Photo of the Week – The cheeky nyala
If that red-billed ox-pecker didn’t seem so bewildered, one might have thought that this nyala is sticking out its tongue at us because of one or other trophy on its head!
The poor bird doesn’t seem to know what is going on though and the nyala is possibly only enjoying its sip of water at the waterhole 🙂
This image was recently taken by our guest Margie Botha from the sunken photographic hide. It was during a photographic course at Indlovu.
The image’s techical details are as follows:

It was such a pleasure hosting this years competition winner Michiel Duvenhage and his wife Mart-Mari. This is what they had to say about their experience.
At Indlovu River Lodge our food is prepared with care by our dedicated staff. We like giving our guests a warm, local experience by making traditional South African food, but sometimes we add a nice European twist to make our foreign guests feel more at home.
