What to expect from a photographic course

Posted on Wed August 19, 2015.

Johan J. Botha is one of the photographers who have been actively involved with photography courses at Indlovu River Lodge over the past few years. In this blog article, Johan shares his inspiring work ethic regarding photography courses with us:

“We have three very strong principles in our company ( DSLR Training):
1. We do not compete with the students on our courses. We as instructors would therefore very seldom take photographs during a course but rather guide our students to get the best shot from the scene and opportunities in front of them.

2. We furthermore strongly believe that every student should leave at the end of a course with a positive learning experience and a definite desire to return to attend another of our courses
3. We keep the classes small with an instructor to student/photographer ratio of only 4 to maximise the learning experience

We also take care to make our photographers comfortable when on a photographic game drive. Game drives take places on a specially equipped vehicle for four photographers. All 4 photographers sit on the same side of the vehicle and camera support systems are provided.”
